Distributed systems engineer. Spent a decade on scheduling, retries, and the unglamorous machinery that decides what runs next and what happens when it fails. Owns the architecture and the engineering team, and still writes the hardest parts of the system himself.
Compilers and developer tooling. Believes most arguments about software can be ended by running something, and that the hard part is deciding which something to run.
Interface designer working on how a person reaches a confident judgment about work they did not do themselves, without having to read all of it. Previously built annotation tooling for editorial teams.
Evaluation and measurement. Designs the experiments that decide whether a change actually improved the outcome or merely felt like it did.
Runs hiring, onboarding, and the parts of a company that are about humans rather than systems. Reads every application that arrives here, and answers all of them. If you have written to us, you have written to her.
