Careers

We are hiring quietly.

Small team, early enough that whoever joins shapes what gets built. We will tell you exactly what we are building on the first call.

01Core

Staff Engineer, Runtime

Staff / Principal · Los Angeles or remote (US) · Full time

Own a long-running, stateful system that has to survive partial failure and still be correct when it comes out the other side.

  • Deep experience with long-running, stateful, failure-prone distributed systems
  • You have designed something other engineers then had to build against, and it held up
  • A habit of asking what happens on the unhappy path before building the happy one
Apply
02Core

Senior Engineer, Execution Infrastructure

Senior / Staff · Los Angeles or remote (US) · Full time

Build the part that actually runs things and measures them, safely, repeatably, and fast enough to be worth doing.

  • Background in testing infrastructure, build systems, static analysis, or developer tooling
  • You have opinions about flaky tests that you can defend with specifics
  • Comfort with sandboxing, process isolation, and the security thinking that executing untrusted code demands
Apply
03Design

Senior Product Designer

Senior / Staff · Los Angeles or remote (US) · Full time

Design how an expert forms a judgment about machine-generated work quickly, and correctly, and without reading everything.

  • Strong information design instincts, demonstrable in work you can walk us through
  • Experience designing tools for experts, not dashboards for executives
  • You prototype in code, or have a workflow that gets you to the same place
Apply
04Research

Research Engineer, Evaluation

Senior · Remote (US) · Full time

Design the experiments that tell us whether what we built actually works, and be the person willing to report that it does not.

  • Experimental design and statistics you can defend, including where the design is weak
  • Enough engineering to build the harness yourself
  • Skepticism as a working method rather than as a personality

--How to apply

No cover letters.

Open the posting and fill in the form. It asks for something you have built and what you think people get wrong about trusting machine-generated work. A paragraph beats a cover letter.

Not sure which role fits, or want to ask something first? Send us a note. It reaches the same people.
